What do the tuition fees cover?
Fees for lessons with Musical Keys cover far more than your weekly face-to-face contact time - in fact, on average an additional 10-15 minutes per week is spent per student (in individual lessons) in planning and resourcing an individualised curriculum! Additional time invested in providing a comprehensive music education service at Musical Keys includes:

You are making an important decision on investing in music education, and you will want to be sure that your music teacher provides the things that are important to you as well as the things that are important to the student’s musical development. Some points to consider are the teacher's:
- time spent with students at performance classes, group lessons, and concerts
- preparation time for lessons - including development of curriculum, sourcing music, ordering and buying music online and from music stores, obtaining additional resources and sourcing aural accompaniments, purchase of materials to share with students to keep resource costs low for students
- preparation time for exams - additional time goes into ensuring thorough student preparation of all areas in exams including written information required for study of the general knowledge component
- preparation for biannual concerts - organisation, concert program planning and program preparation/printing, purchase of refreshments
- studio expenses - instrument purchase and maintenance, computer software, apps, insurance, etc
- administration time - email/phone contact with students/parents, scheduling, invoicing
- continuing education - seminars, workshops, and masterclasses that keep the teacher up-to-date with methods and techniques
- your teacher's training and experience
